This is great!
The Search for The Golden Crown Plant
A simple little gardening game I (Dave) made for Ludum Dare 52 with my 7 year old kid. He came up with the idea and did the art and I put it together.
Grow plants to eat or sell. Cross pollinate them to find new seeds. Discover the golden crown plant if you can... but watch out for the stinky turdmelon!
- Arrow Keys or Left Stick to move.
- Spacebar or 'A' to interact.
- Buy and plant seeds, then eat or sell the fruit at the truck.
- The bee will pollinate plants in the order of fruiting, giving you different seeds when eaten!

I'm glad the artwork and the voices were so cute!
The bee voice is my favorite!
this is so wholesome and cute, your son is an amazing artist !! the humor is perfect too!
Great work Tom and Dad games! I couldn't find the Golden Crown Plant but I did eat a lot of turdmelons, yum. Looking forward to what you do next! :)
A truly lovely, super charming little game <3.
I only had one issue with the game, and it was when you planted seeds, or put your water thingy right on top of the place where the seeds can be purchased. That stops you from either picking your plants up, or the water thingy. I had to restart the game the first time I tried the game.
If you keep working on this, add some level progression. This is already addicting enough as it is, so a little something more will definitely scratch that harvesting itch haha. Your kid should be proud he's dad is this awesome.
Username says it all.
wow so fun and great art and sounds effects!
Ha! Very cool. Love the sound effects, and the bouncing everythings. Fun!
Now I feel I really understand how farming works. :)
It was kinda cool how you can eat the thing, instead of selling it, but then that gives you another seed to plant to grow another thing! :D
Thank you! This is very lovely and well-designed. Actually, It makes me wanna bring my 6 years old sister to the Global Game Jam at the end of this month.
Looks great! I love parent-child game collaborations :-)
