How many can play locally?

(+2)

We've managed 10, I think 12 is the limit, but it's more limited by how many controllers will happily work together on your PC :P

(+2)

Looks like a fun multiplayer game! Great artwork!

This game is one of my favorites, but its version is just over a year out of date from the one on Steam.  Can RHB get the 1.1.0 update from November 2019 here?

(+1)

The free version here is actually the original version from 2015. If you buy you get a key for the expanded steam version, with online multiplayer, etc.

The online features use steam lobbies, which is why we didn't release an updated DRM free version here.

(+1)

That makes sense.  Thanks for clearing that up!

(1 edit)

Hey, quick question, what is the maximum limit of players on local mulitplayer ?

12 is the hard limit in the code, although I've never tried to play with that many, gets a bit fiddly trying to get that many controllers plugged in and working ;) We've played with 8 quite a lot though.

Just noticed that you'd released the Steam version - instabuy! Now I don't need NBA 2K19 anymore. Cheers, and keep the fantastic games coming!

As an aside, is there any chance of a DRM-free build of the enhanced version down the line? Happy to lose network play for that, running outside of Steam is just that little bit more reliable for spontaneous local multiplayer sessions.

Awesome! I'm not planning on a non-steam version, but you should be able to play with steam in offline mode if that helps.

Shame... Offline mode doesn't usually help me, since it deauthorises all the time, especially when I'm keen to play something! Thanks anyway.

Had my first play session, and the little touches since your game jam version really improve the feel of the matches. Nice work!

Ah, you're right. It used to let you play if steam was opened, even if you weren't logged in (ie.. sitting on the log-in popup) . But I tried that and it doesn't work now.  Shame, I don't really want the DRM stuff, just to use steam's matchmaking features when available.   I probably won't do a non-steam build for now though, just because I want to keep it clear which is the paid version.

A couple of years later... any chances of a non-Steam version?

Hey, love the look of the game and am thinking of purchasing it! Are you planning on releasing this on PS4 by any chance? It would be really fun to play together or against each other on one screen.

(+1)

Probably not, we'll think about switch depending on how it goes, since it feels like a good fit there, but other consoles are pretty unlikely.

(+1)

Would love to get this on Switch! More 8-player games are definitely welcome.

(+1)

I would love to get this, but without AI it's really limiting for a lot of folks. I do play couch co-op, but some single player would be a nice addition.

(+6)

We thought about this a lot actually, but the single player ideas we had were all kind of missing the core of what made it fun. So in the end we decided to keep it to the core, and in doing that keep the price down too.

What is 84429.exe? I use the Itch.io application and that comes up after download.

Hrmm, I'm not sure, when I install from the itch.io client I don't get that. Is this on windows? The game executable should be RegularHumanBasketball.exe

Yea, I use a Windows 7 PC

Hello, I was wondering I plugged my ps4 controller into this game and whenever I jump to join it makes 2 guys instead of one and I'm controlling them both at the one time, is this just with ps4 controllers?

Played this game at PAX Aus today and just downloaded the free version, it's super fun, can't wait for the steam version to be released :)

This is a very fun game, but can you add a setting to turn off the announcers? They get a little repetitive.

(+2)

I have one question about compatibility... can you be a not human playing this?

I hope the development of this game will be continued. This game is absolutely fun.

I have an Xbox 360 wireless reciever and an Xbox One wireless adapter hooked up.  Only recognizes the 360 controllers.  (Works with other games)  Is it possible to use both the wireless 360 and XBOne controllers?

(1 edit)

Same issue here!  We had a mix of 360 wireless, one wireless, and wired controllers and only the 360 wireless and wired controllers worked.

Edit: turns out it's a limitation of xinput of 4 xbox style controllers.  How can this came claim to support up to 10 players when its using xinput?

Great game! I made a couple videos on it!

Was this made with Unity as well? just curious!

Yep!
